The high intrinsic value of aluminium provides a continuous economic incentive for deconstruction and collection rather than disposal.

Modern recycling technologies allow processing complex construction products and return them to the production cycle as high-grade materials These products undergo a complex separation process to isolate the aluminium from other components. Mechanical separation, using technologies such as shredding and eddy currents, removes materials like plastics and thermal breaks. Finishes, such as powder coatings, are then thermally removed before remelting.
The resulting aluminium is cast into new extrusion billets, which retain the same properties as primary aluminium and can be used to manufacture new building profiles.
